gwen stefani is soooo original.

so original, in fact, that her hit rich girl was a remake of a cover.

when rich girl came out, i was like, wtf this isn't a new song. and everyone was like yeah it is, its gwen, it just came out. and after countless hours of searching online, i found the original -- rich girl by minchie one and louchie lou, which was on the reggae all-stars hip hop album which came out in 1994.

so the original gwen "asian fetish" stefani remade that song, changing exactly two things: the singers. instead of minchie one and louchie lou, it's gwen stefani and eve.

puke. my disdain for her grows by the second.

ya, i did notice the same thing actually, but i just never looked it up. i remember that song was bery popular in high school during sweet 16's etc. and obviously that in itself is some perverted version of the fiddler on the roof song, so...ya, she sucks :) i agree :) and people need to fucking recognize that there's nothing original about this "new" song

her other recent hit "it's my life" was also the cover of a talk talk song. maybe that was from the 80s, i don't know, but that version had electronic birds quacking periodically.

ACTUALLY... these songs are all modified from a song called "If I Were a Rich Man" from the musical Fiddler on the Roof, which was made into a movie in the 1970s I believe. nanananana no one's original these days.

oh i know it's a remake of the FOTR song but at least the Louchie Lou and Minchie One version was original in terms of making it a reggae song. gwen just ripped off of their version.
